MTV Europe Music Awards 2009

Lễ trao giải MTV Europe Music Awards năm nay được tổ chức vào ngày 5-11 tới tại nhà thi đấu đa năng O2 World (Berlin, Đức). Toàn bộ buổi lễ sẽ được dẫn dắt bởi ca sĩ Katy Perry. Đây là lần thứ 4 MTV Europe Music Awards được tổ chức tại Đức. Toàn bộ đề cử được công bố vào ngày 21-9-2009 (riêng giải thưởng Nghệ sĩ xuất sắc nhất của từng nước được công bố sớm hơn, ngày 1-9-2009). Nhìn vào các đề cử, có thể thấy rõ ràng rằng, mặc dù được tổ chức tại châu Âu nhưng số lượng các nghệ sĩ châu Âu được đề cử rất ít, phần lớn là các nghệ sĩ đến từ bên kia bán cầu. Một vài nghệ sĩ châu Âu được đề cử trong các hạng mục chính đến từ Anh (Robbie Williams, Pixie Lott, La Roux...), Đức (Tokio Hotel), Ireland (U2)...
